~~Life in Surgery

Life as houseman was as tough as i thought..

& as easy as we can think it positively

Its a matter of adaptation, acceptance, & how we actually manage our life as a junior doctor..

Being a doctor, is not as easy as its name...

you have to be responsible in whatever u do, every steps & every word came out from you

and it was soo different from the student's life as you dont have any responsibility, you can only come & go to the ward as much as you like,

No one will disturbed your sleep..

you can get so many excuses when you want to..

You can get so many friends and you can choose your friend..

You can have many time with your family, your friend & yourself

I really miss my student's life!!

And...

Being a houseman is totally different from above

Day 1 in ward- Melapor diri kepada ketua jabatan... & biasala ward orientation by sister...

Then you have to start Tagging for 2 weeks

Life started at 6am in the morning, after subuh, i went to the ward

Start reviewing the patient

Then went to the morning pass over- means the oncall people will pass over all the cases that admitted yesterday

Then ward rounds..

(i lose 5kg during tagging time)

After 2weeks- i've finished my tagging period...yeah..

So, i can go back earlier at 6pm after finished all the work la..

It was just like heaven after finished tagging

Dapat merasa sinar cahaya matahari, suasana di kuantan di siang hari...

yang tak dapat di rasa apabila kita tagging...huhu

Datang ke ward pun dalam 6.50 atau 7 lebih..hehe

then, after finished tagging, we will have our 1st oncall..

my 1st oncall not that bad, as i was paired with someone senior 3rd poster houseman..

he teach me a lot of thing during my 1st call & i have the opportunity to do CVP with him...

Luckily my 1st call only have 4 admission...

After pass one month, then my rotation begin, i was assigned to do clinic rotation for 1 week

During clinic, it was such a plesure when things go smoothly

Duduk kat klinik memang bes nak compare kerje ward..pressure pun kurang skit...

Dekat klinik, we have to review the patient and discuss with MO regarding the case..

Banyak yang boleh dipelajari masa kat clinic especially how to manage stable patient

& i get the opportunity to do hemorrhoid banding during my clinic rotation..

 but, the time are too short..i wish to have my clinic rotation again..huhu...

(i gained back another 5 kg..waa!!)

  So far, being a houseman is a matter of adaptation & how you handle the stress life because of a lot of work with least sleep..

At the end, i feel being scolded by the MO is part of bread & butter of life

i'll get used with it

as long as my job finished..hehe

And one of the MO that always scolded me, become a good friend of me now..

whatever it is, hidup ini bagaikan roda..

Kadangkala kita berada diatas, kadangkala kita di bawah...
